About your practitioner

Hi, I’m Dr Mary-Jo Bevin (TCM).

I combine my background in research science with over 20 years clinical experience in Chinese Medicine, for a holistic, personalised approach to women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, menopause, and chronic health issues.

Are you ready to break free from your health issues and discover how much better you can feel? Let’s get you on the road to optimal health today.

Background

Natural medicine is in my blood; raised in a family that cherished good health and natural therapies, I understand how precious your well-being is. I began my journey as a research scientist, specialising in neuroscience and the mind-body connection. My path took a transformative turn when I discovered acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. What began as an interest in research quickly turned into a passion for the remarkable results we can achieve in clinical practice.

Approach

I love deciphering complex health puzzles, making sense of your symptoms, and helping you reclaim your life. I believe true health comes from being in tune with your body, understanding your symptoms and knowing how to restore balance.

With a calm, compassionate presence and keen attention to detail, I’m here to  support you in achieving lasting results and empower you with the tools to maintain optimal health, now and in the future.

Working with me

When you work with me it’s a partnership. I will select the best treatments to help you achieve your health goals, listen to your story, and empower you with tools to understand, improve and maintain your health.

As a doctor of Chinese medicine I have worked with thousands of women dealing with infertility, painful periods, and hot flushes. I recognise the deep interconnection between the body, mind and emotions, and I aim to address both physical and emotional symptoms in our sessions. This holistic approach helps you experience a powerful shift, freeing you to live your life to the fullest.

In your initial consultation, I will make a full assessment of your health. I will fit your symptoms into a comprehensive framework so we can understand your current health and chart the path forward, with a personalised treatment plan to address both your health concerns and overall wellbeing.  Where appropriate, acupuncture or other bodywork is included in this session, and herbal medicines are prescribed for you to begin taking at home.

Our work together will include a combination of herbal medicine, supplements, nutrition, bodywork therapies including acupuncture, and lifestyle and mindset adjustments for optimal results. You will learn simple yet impactful changes to maintain your health.

I typically work closely with clients over several months, especially those with longstanding health issues, for lasting change.
